55Flash Fiction Friday

Gotta pee
Gotta pee

Time to get my owner up
so I can PEE and then get fed

Make a little noise
nudge him while he sleeps
nothing works
He is dead to the world.

Ah there is my break
I see skin on his back
Wet cold nose to his back
He’s finally up

Ah the life of a dog. It starts in the morning when they have to fend for themselves to get outside to go relieve themselves. Then of course it is time to eat. Then time to kick the owner out of bed so I can spend all day sleeping. Then at night time for more food (I hope) water and of course going outside at least 10 times. Chase the cat, chew the bone, go see the owner and let them know we love them with a little gas. Yep, it is a very tough life.

Can we go for a walk or maybe a ride in the car?

If you would like to try a flash 55 they are real easy. Try and keep it to 55 words or close to that. Typically it should be fiction but I have bent that a few times. Once you have posted you 55 then slip on over and let Susie know so she can gather the sang so every one can come visit. The badge on my side bar that says 55Flash Fiction Friday will link you to a prior post of Susie about the 55. Also on my side bar is the like to her site. I believe it is Susies is the Boss. Look for the carrot next to her name. That is it. Enjoy and take the time to visit some others that are doing the 55. There are some really great writers out there. Go on, give it a try.

Man, I remember what having a dog was like...especially when she got older, getting up in the middle of the night to let her out...argh!

There are a lot of things I miss about having a dog, but that is not one of them.

Thanks for playing 55 with us! See you next week.

Alex (the cat) is more subtle in his wake-up call. He simply curls up on my chest and purrs until I open my eyes. And, of course, being a cat with a litter box, peeing is not his primary desire. Eating is the first item on his agenda.

Congratulations LW is number one. Sometimes I wish I had a dogs life but I am not complaining. I do not know about sniffing each others butts however.

Susie, my brother in law used to have a dog that did that very thing. He looked for the bare skin and placed his nose right in the right spot... maybe that is why they no longer hae a dog.

G-man, it was heading in a strange direction for sure if it was me. Not that I have not been desperate to find a place to go but...

Yes TC, it kind of applies to dogs and not so much cats but still... of course you have frodo so there.

Oh nick, I have house sat peoples houses that have pets before. The thing that drives me crazy is when a cat does just what you mentioned about Alex. I love the purring but am not thrilled about all that pressure on my chest and especially if they decide to walk around on your chest. For someone so light their paws feel like they weigh a ton.

Boy do I EVER know that trick except I get the cold nose in the face from all 3 dogs! Once they see movement or we make eye contact, which is even worse, it's all down hill from there! But hey...they are SOOOOOOO worth to spend every waking moment with ;o)

Have a great wknd Bryan!!

Hi, Barman!

The first two lines of your 55 sound like me when I go out drinking.

And once I break the seal, I am pee-ing every five minutes.

I can barely be in a public place for twenty minutes without having to get up and use the bathroom even if I'm not drinking.

One of my friends has timed it on his watch.

Oh and my cat Pumpkin jumps in the middle of my stomach to wake me where as Puff nibbles my ear. I keep telling him "I dont let daddy nibble my ears what makes you think you can"? But he does it anyways.

Sophia, the doggy that I had in mind when I typed that had it not to bad. My brother in law was a little strict with him be he still get to play, walk, eat ice (his favorite thing to do) and in general get spoiled.

Sbowelf, I think cats are even scarier as I am not even sure what they are thinking other than they own you and they own the house. Still, yep, they care funny especially when they want something.

Jessica, I hear you. I have only house sat a hand full of times and I noticed that right away. There is no vacation from them unless you go away or trick someone into taking them somewhere.

Jillie, all three dogs? Wow, when I house sat the one dog and two cats might sit there and stair at me but it was the job of the other dog to come and wake me up. It happened every time. Sometimes the other dog would bother me when I went to bead (pet me, pet me) but it was always Buddy's job to wake me. I hear you on how wonderful they are to have around other than that.

Lime they have a whole lot of good too but yep, you are right. They can be a little bit of a pain at times.

Mike, the nose thing? Wow. I suppose all you have to do is open up the wallet let her take some money and you are all set.

LW, I saw the joke. Nice. I hope you have a wonderful time in Vegas.

Hi Jan, I keep hoping you can come back to blogging. I suppose I should send you some emails. But lately my emails would not have been the most happy things in the world. It is getting better however.

Rebicmel, I think it is instinct or something. All dogs seem to know that trick near as I can tell. My weekend started out with a lazy day yesterday which I desperately needed. Today I hope to actually get work done so great weekend so far. I hope yours has went well too. After all we all live for the weekend.

Mike, I did not know what to write about and then it came to me. Dogs are cool, that is for sure.

Strumpet, I am fortunate. I can go most of the evening without breaking the seal but, much like you, once I do break the seal that is all she wrote. I visit often. What fun is that?

I know what you mean. I have never been around a dog other than others peoples dogs but I keep getting that same itch. I wonder if they have an ointment or something? To funny about your cat sneaking nibbles. I know, we had three cats when I was growing up but the one I hardly remember, the second one had more to do with my Sister and the third one spent all her time with my Brother. They would play tag games abd everything and when ever he would lay on the floor to do something she was right there. My experience with cats was more the sleeping on the chest which I was not fond of or trapping the blanket which then trapped my legs to the bed, something I am not fond of at all. Other then that they left me alone in the morning.
