55Flash Fiction Friday

She waits at home for your return

Upon arriving you can see
the total, unconditional love
in her eyes

She would do anything
to please you

Yet time and again
you would let her down

She will always forgive you

You do not deserve her

There is nothing like the love
of mans best friend

(Lucy as captured by Crabby)

I could not help but think of this 55 after perusing Flickr yesterday. There I saw pictures of Lucy, an absolutely lovable Golden Retriever whom I have met twice. There is no such thing as an enemy, she loves everyone. You have a snack, you are her best bud. Heck you were her best bud from the moment you walked in the door. Want to play fetch with her, she will love you for life.

So while you all were off enjoying Valentines Day yesterday, here I sat thinking about getting a dog. I hope everyone had a great time yesterday. Enjoy the wonderful weekend and don’t forget, only about 5 weeks until spring (or fall if you are from the southern hemisphere). I can not wait.

Won't you join us with a 55Flash Fiction. Click on my side bar for more information. It is not that hard and you do not need to be an awesome writer or anything.

Great 55! I think you should get a cat. They don't have to be let in and out :)

Have a great weekend!

OK Bryan,
Dogs are cool if you have a large yard, lots of time for them, a big house, no nice furniture.
If you get a puppy, they will be around for a damn long time.
Mr Ratburns last spontaneous animal thingy was Rio, that dog I had for 12 years. She was a pain in the ass, but of course I loved her so much.....he brought her home one day from a party where he got so pplastered and fell in love with this puppy.
I was the one that had to raise her and take care of her and all that....
Dont be gettin all spontaneous on me here and run out and get a dog without thinking about it first.
And for gods sakes, get that doggy fixed immediately if you do get one!
Just sayin.
This message has been brought to you by you local ASPCA

Have a great weekend Bryan

Sign I know, a cat is so much easier to deal with. You want to go away for a weekend, you can get away with it. A dog... you better beat feet home after work or you will have a mess. That or they need to be an outdoor dog. What fun is that?

Strumpet, will do. I have the first one you mentioned on tap for tonight I do believe.

Akelamalu, dogs can be great and they can be a little pain too. But I really do love dogs.

Susie, if I did get a dog I think I could get by. Luckily I am right next to a rather large open area (at least an acre or two) that would help. I would imagine we would be going for walks and trips to the part for sure. And yes, I know I would have to be a responsible pet owner. I promise to think it threw, honest.

Mona cats can be friends too but they are so independent and do what they want. Of course dogs are great for telling you at 5 freaking AM in the morning they want to go out.

Jillie, I can only imagine. You look like you have a real fan club going there. I did not mean a pun here but go right ahead and insert a pun if you like.

--------------------------

I talked to my Mom yesterday for over an hour. She is a little weak and not getting well as fast as she wishes but meds and clearing the lungs do not happen over night. She has an opointment with her lung doctor next week so she will be able to follow through with hom then.

In general, I think my Mom is doing better but it will take time to heal. Thanks so much for asking.

I've loved and adored every dog I ever had, cats I can do without. They act like you are their pet.

Susie is right, if you can't dedicate the time a dog needs to exercise properly and go out often enough, then maybe a cat is a better choice. Besides, a cat you can leave alone in the house for days, but that doesn't work for dogs.

Lucy looks like my kind of unconditional friend. Come to think of it, I might be ready for a Lucy in the next 6-months-to-a-year. Just as soon as I'm done nannying and figure out where I'm going with my life. *dreads the conversation coming in two weeks*
