Blog Be Gone

I noticed something very interesting to me as I have been wandering throughout the blog universe. People have a blog for so long and poof, they either disappear forever or delete their blog and start over again. So what is going on?

It would appear that more often then not they have said things in their blog that, as long as it is anonymous, it is OK. But as soon as that layer of anonymity is removed it is time to hit that old button. I have noticed several were because of HNT on their blog. I think that is part of why I have decided not to take part in that. Of course the first word is "Half" and with a little creativity you can post things that even a child seeing would be OK.

Sometimes it seems to be things that were said or even just how the person behaved that gets the big button pushed. My family, relatives, friends found my blog, oh no! Now even though I have not said much in my blog and I try not to be mean to people, I certainly understand this.

Other times maybe you have worked through what ever it is you set out to do in the first place. Or maybe it is just time for a change. Time to head in another direction all together.

I guess "Seize the Day" applies here. Get out there often. Visit with you friends, make new friends and make the best of what you have right now. You never know when the big one is coming. Just my casual observation of this giant universe of blogging.

It's almost like a death in the family when someone deletes their blog. It makes me feel a little sick and my mind races hoping that the person is ok.

I cannot personally imagine deleting mine. It would be like erasing part of my brain. It was too much work in the first place.

I started printing off posts just in case something goes terribly wrong. I've also started cutting and pasting into the hard drive.

There is really nothing in my blog that isn't public knowledge. I would just feel strange knowing that someone I know read it. Like they were reading my mind. I don't know why this freaks me out.

Great post B!

I hope I don't have to delete mine! It's so great to have a place to just dump whatever is on my mind!

You make some really good points here. When I started writing, I went in, 'talking' as I do, in real life. Never reveal anything that you may regret later on---that's it.

HNT? Well... To each their own. I find it a pointless way to draw in traffic to tell you the truth. I mean, people are showing off their ears, elbows and feet, if they're not 'risque'. I'd rather hear about their lives.

Deleting all stories that you created, is sad. Unless you saved them all in your word document.

Totally have to agree with you on this one, Barman! :)

Well.... I cannot for a moment imagine deleting my blog. It is part and parcel of me. I've discussed all and sundry on my blog... which is also read by my mother.

Did get e-mail from her saying she loves me all of the time and understands me none of the time. LOL

I enjoy HNT because for *me* it is a creative outlet. I have a seperate blog site for it though, although there are links to it from my main site. I cannot say the creative thing is why others do it as pictures of elbow's and ears... ja no well fine as we say here in South Africa! LOL

I have seen at least 4 people delete their blogs in the last month or so. I personally hope never to do that. I placed several things out there so people can find a little about me if they want. I also like the idea of coming back in the future a remembering some of what I wrote about all over again.

There are a few things I have said that I would be slightly uncomfortable if certain people were to read it but for the most part I don't talk bad about people and I don't generaly give details about people unless I said something nice about them.

Even though I have just started I would feel kind of nekked if my blog were to go away now. So I am not going anywhere, for better or for worse.

I like ears elbows, feet AND eyes, breasts, legs, tushes, hair, toenails, scars, belly buttons, whiskers, etc.
I think Deb you are MISSING a vital part of what HNT is all about, getting more traffic is one benefit of it but it is not why I started doing it.
I've met some of the most amazing people who have shown me their feet and elbows and all because I posted on HNT and they visited my site and then I posted on theirs and learned about their site.
This is how I met Wenchy, she came to my site on HNT and I responded and now she is one of my favorites, her blog rocks.
The problem is there are so many blogs out there it is impossible to investigate them all to find which ones click for you.
HNT is a way for strangers to meet, a camaradarie, I love it.
After reading these comments I thought I would have to change my HNT post for this week but oh well it's too late now...LOL
ps, I typed this as one piece I'm too tired to separate the sentences.LOL

TC, you are being a lazy kitty, hehe.

I have to agree about the HNT. I don't do it for traffic. It's just another outlet for me. It's fun to take the pictures and even more fun to see what others think about them.

Wenchy rocks!

Thank you wmy, I hope not to go anywhere either. This is just to much fun.

I am having a good time tossing on little things at the end that, in some way, deal with the post although sometimes it is a real stretch. I am not even sure people notice it but that is OK as I am having enough fun for all.
