No Brakes

On the way into work this morning I discoevered I had No Breaks. I was coming up on the light near my house and it was red. So, like I normally do, long before the time I need to stop, I applied the breaks.
BRAKES
The idiot Break light went on, the peddle just about hit the ground and I was hardley stopping. Now since I has a ways to stop I was able to get stopped. I pulled a U turn and headed home for the other vehicle that I bought last spring. Thank goodness for that. Of course it was full of ice since I had not driven it in a while but that is OK. So now I am going to try and get the car I normally drive into a brake shop on Monday and see what happens.
Hope your Thursday is going better. All things considered, I guess mine is going pretty good. It sure could have been worse.
Don't use the brakes. Cars are made to go, not to stop! --A bout de souffle

The first thing that came to mind was that you had no breaks at work today, and that just wouldnt be fair...there are laws against such stuff...

The second thing that came to mind was a vision of you attempting to stop the car with your feet, Fred Flintstone style!

That happened to me several times over the years. It's such a terrifying feeling not to be able to stop.

Well Im glad your like me and stop way ahead of time. But my habit of doing this stems from driving junker cars that you know may go at any time. Glad all turned out ok.

Oh mistress, why didn't I think of the Fred Flintstone thing. I could have stopped so easy. Besides I need to replace them anyway so if they get worn down, who cares.

Tony I agree. Had I been a little closer to the car in front of me I would have really hated it as I pointed the car at the curb and ... better then hitting another car. Thnak goodness it did not go there.

Gab this vehicle is 14 years old. It is getting pretty close to the junker stage. Maybe it just crossed over.

Jodes, now it is Friday... YEA!

I guess that is why I always start to break long before I need to. In this case thank goodness I did.

No Thank You SignGurl.

Top Cat, I guess they were going but not completely gone yet. Getting iy in Monday to be worked on should be interesting.

Jan I sure will try to have a good weekend. I plan to see a rodeo which I have not done in ages.

g-man, I have 2. The one I normally drive is 14 plus years old. I started to be worried about it last year so I bought another vehicle (2002) last spring. I had spent so much to fix my old one in the past that I just could not get rid of it so I have been using it back and forth to work (I live near by) and out and about town. You know the bad milage where you do not drive to very far and the car does not warm up all the way. That and I kept the millage off the newer vehicle. I plan to get rid of it this spring or summer.

OMG Bryan! That could have been so bad. I'm pleased to hear you are ok and that you have another vehicle to use until you get them fixed.

It doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened.
