Snow Day

You would have thought the end of the world was on its way even as late as yesterday. They had winter storm warnings in place for us and were only predicting between 3 to 6 inches of snow. That is it, 6 inches max with no ice or anything. They are predicting blowing winds which could be much worse with lose snow being blown around but ... THIS IS MICHIGAN. We get snow. Big deal.

Yesterday we saw probably between 1 to 1 1/2 inches, probably a lot from drifting. Even if you add that in and now add the new totals they are talking about that will only set you back ... cha ching ... 3 to 6 inches. So I might only see another 2 inches of snow over the course of two days.

Why oh why do the weather forecasters do it. Why do the predict the way they do. And why aren't they more accurate. I think if I were off as much as them I would have lost my jobs ages ago. Anyway I am not complaining. I mean Michigan can handle the snow but it does not mean we want to handle the snow.

I hope the weather in your neck of the woods is cooperating. Oh Suze, should I send some of our snow your way? I wonder if it is to late to move south? I see Kentucky is only expecting rain. Who knows what further south will see.

Yeah, you know something... Vermont should be beautiful this time of year, with all that snow. --White Christmas

We've got a lot heading our way as I type this between today and most of the night.
I think weather people do it because lets face it they don't get much of the limelight during the newscasts.
So storms are their big chance to have their moment.
They just wanna feel the love(wink)

Oh Man Sign, it does not sound so gound down where you work. I hope all goes well for you. *keeps fingers crossed*

I can see why the weather people might need to feel the love. No one thinks about the weather people unless it is bad things. Hey if she is a cute weather person ... oh, never mind.

Welcome Alyssa. I think I should put a fire place up on the page somewhere. Wow that is no fun at all. We have had several days that went below 0 (about -17 or -18) but not for a high yet this season. I hate it when it gets that cold. I have a cute "guy thing" water trick that only works at about that temperature or colder...

Jan I agree, I would rather have the snow rather then the ice. Although those poor people in upstate New York. From what I hear 10 to 11 feet of snow in a weeks time with another 1 to 2 feet on the way. I can not even imagine.

They are predicting snow, sleet and freezing rain here. I don't mind the snow, but the sleet and freezing rain will make it very difficult for me when I drive the 25 miles out east tomorrow evening to meet Lori for Valentines Day.

Drama queens is what they are. We get that here in Ohio too. They act like we're about to be hit by a major disaster blocking off all highways, crumbling stores.

Yesterday they were even telling us to get out to the stores and get food and winter emergency supplies.

It's too late for you to move South my man. Once you're born and bred in the midwest there's no changing it.
I lived south for one year. When Christmas came and it was sunny and warm, I had a severe anxiety attack. It was like, YEEGADS! This is NOT right.

The worst part of Winter for me is shoveling snow. I don't like it.

I have always thought the news did that. It's like they get stuck on one story and by the time they are finished you are so sick of hearing about it. They do the same thing here when Ohio State is getting ready to play. Jeez! Say it once and move on.

Even with the storm we're getting now, it doesn't even come close to comparing with what they are dealing with in New York. 11 feet! If I think it's bad shoveling my drive way I can't even imagine what I'd do if I had to go up and shovel my roof.

Crabby, you are probably right about moving south. I do not like how messy and long winter can be but I think I not be able to live someone that does not have 4 seasons. Of course Kentucky has 4 seasons and has a much easier winter. :)

Manny I heard some of your buddies from the other branch went home early. Hope you were part of it. I know you guys are getting hit but Cleveland sounds not pretty at all. Of course it is not the 11 foot. You would need to go by a roof rake so you did not need to climb around on the roof and maybe fall off. I do not have one yet but I should. They are not that expensive. You are so right about the news stuff. A few years back it was shark attacks everywhere. I know people from Florida and they said that was just normal. It was being blown out of proportion. Now you never hear about it and nothing really changed. You are so right.

Send both Sign myself his number. We will make it worth his while! :)

You are closer to g-man's house. So you send the guy over when you are DONE with him.

Perhaps they work on the theory that if they prepare you for the worst, anything less makes you happy.
