Kentucky Derby Festival

Sorry I have been MIA so much this week. I have been working lots of extra hours so I can head down to Kentucky to visit with my best friends and enjoy the Kentucky Derby Festival that you see depicted here.

There are like 100 or more events but this video shows you the Balloon Glow, Great Balloon Race, Great Steamboat Race, and the best fireworks in North America and third the world, Thunder Over Louisville. I leave Friday morning and will be gone for a little over a week. Enjoy the video.

G-man, gambling will be pennies if that (non race track betting), I will see the ponies work out on Monday or Tuesday but not actual racing, drinking possibly we will see, carousing well we have to have some fun now don't we? I will probably be at Barnes and Nobles several days, using a tread mill every morning, checking out Sonic a few times, crying that there are no Horton's there either, indulging in some prime rib on the grill and who know what else other than just visiting.

Sign I hope to be leaving Friday morning and coming back a week from Monday. I have not got the time off yet but I am about to find out if that works.

The Derby is SOOOOOOO much fun. I was there a few years ago. My older brother and his family lives there and loved every moment of it. I had my first mint julep there and WOW!!! I thought is was going to be a "minty" drink...mint my ass it was...but then good ol mother said to me...you know after the first two...they're not that bad. Crazy lady...gotta love the mother load.

I'm jealous you're going. Take lots of pictures for all of us and have a mint julep for me ;o)

Manny, I will not be in Ohio but I may see if I can sneak on over. I would love to do that. If not then, then maybe in June. I will be down for a wedding and I think one more time between now and then. It is my Year of Kentucky.

Jillie there is a big difference between a Mint Julep and a Mint Julep at the track. I think the track ones are all bourbon with a sprig of mint in it. They are SO STRONG. I only had one when I was at the track before so I guess I was a wimp. Kentucky is a nice place. I would not mind living there. You should go visit again sometime.

Tony I do have a nice time but I never get crazy done there. I am sure you had tons more fun on your trip. Still I would not trade this time of year for anything. I think I will need to buy some mint julep stuff why I am there and have fun.

Jan I am not sure if I will post pictures before I come back but I am going to take my computer and will post some while I am gone. I will see if I can come up with some nice pictures when I do post them. Say cheese.... there, that was a nice one.

Crabbs, is it safe to come visit? I have no idea when my plans are yet but I might be able to sneak out sometime.

A Toast to you too Lori. So not I need to have a Julep on Derby Day and a Margarita on Cinco de Mayo. I like you HNT a lot. I have got busy so I am not sure if I posted a comment yet but I will get there.

Wendy I look forward to getting down there. It will be nice. Sunday is Prime Rib night... YUM! I can not wait. I will bring back pictures.
