55Flash Fiction Friday

They push
They burry
They dig
They dump

They hall
They cut
They pour
They pump

They sweat
They tan
They stand
They Strump*

The ladies
probably even
appreciate
their rump

They played with Tonka toys as little boys
They drive the real thing just like they are toys

Aren’t construction worker fun to watch?

*Strump. I was in need of a word I could not find. The last couple of days I have had a fascination with Strumpet. I visited her blog for the first time. I thought if I could bottle the essence of Strumpet into a word I thought it might fit in here nicely. Hence the strange use of the word above. Hopefully I did not upset.

Oh and before I catch any shit, I am watching the construction workers do their job, not look at their rump, OK. It is fun to think of driving the big heavy equipment and just playing around in the dirt.

G-man, I have been watching them do road reconstruction by me for over a month so I thought this would work out well.

S, I am in trouble. I knew it. I would lend yu a hand but I am sure you managed to come back to earth. If not I promise to toss you a line.

JJ, I knew it. :)

Come on out to the farm. My grandpa's got both of those pieces of machinery. I'm sure he'd let you push some dirt around.

I love the format of the 55. Very cool!

Oh my God!

You are too cool!!

I am smiling so big right now, Bryan!!

That is awesome.

I feel quite honoured, over here, and I do admit that I am blushing.

I love your 55, and that's okay if you're not looking at the rumps of the Construction Workers, cos I will look at them enough for both of us.

No worries there!

I, too, like to be dirty and play with big, heavy equipment.

Oh Brighton. I have several pair of steel toe things, one pair is tennis shoes. Of course I have not worn them latelty, shucks.

Milkmaid, I agree. I drove a hilo and an 18 wheeler around the plant I worked at. The closest I came to a real life Tonka but it was fun. The real life toys are fun to see then being played with. Good stuff.

Sign I am not a poetry or any other kind of guy so this, though not poetry, was strange to me but it kind of turned out.

TC, maybe I can do moles and ground hogs some time as I have both on my property, or at least I did.

Strumpet, I have been having a fun time just looking back on your blog for the last month. You seem to be such extreemes and, for the most part, a whole pile of fun. We need more people like that. Oh and you blush... no way. :) Maybe we could race earth movers some time.

Thank you Ann. I have had a construction site in front of where I work for a month. Sometimes nothing happens. Sometimes they hit a gas line and everyone gets all excited. Once they hit a steam line and the steam supply to the building I work in went out (hey who needs heat) but now they are making a lot of progress and it has been fun watching. Glad you stopped by. Oh my brother-in-law lived on one for a while. He took 3 years to build his house. I was there for just over half of it. No fun big machinery (he drove the Bobcat however) but I did get to use pneumatic nailers and sazall, right angle drill... It was most fun.

Chrissie, I am sure there are a few of the lady construction workers that I might make an exception for. You don't do any construction do you. Now that would be a fun time.

Galen,

=P

Mr. Barman,

Yeah, my blog is DEFINITELY all over the place. There are no constants when it comes to Strumpet's life. My head is a mess...but in a good way. Or so I'd like to think.

It can make for good blogging from time to time, that's for sure!

How about we race All-Terrain-Attack-Transports instead? (Those coolass four-legged machines-- from the beginning of the Empire Strikes Back --that attack the rebel base.)

Talk about riding real life toys...THAT would kick so much ass.

Of course I blush! I'm human!! Don't act like you don't blush, Barman....we all blush.

How about if I tell you that you are cute? Would you blush then??

Barman is cute.

Keep me posted. Are you blushing now?

If not...I'll have to come up with something better.

=P
