A question if you do not mind |
While I am gathering my thoughts for a proper New Years day entry I thought of a question. If I were a little more savy I probably could put up one of the instant polls but I guess I will do this instead.
Does anyone pay attention to the little odd ball thing I stick at the end of most posts? Sometimes it is a quote from a movie or TV show, some times it is from lyrics of a song, etc. I am just curious because some times it takes me more time to come up with something that in some way or another ties in with something in the blog entry then to write the rest of the entry. I guess I am not sure why I am asking as, at least for now, I am finding it amusing but...
Champ here. I'm all about havin' fun. You know, start a fire in someone's kitchen, maybe go to SeaWorld, take my pants off... Anyway, I've become kind of famous for my signature catch-phrase ? whammy! Like, Gene Tenace at the plate... and whammy! -- Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Sometimes I pay attention and if it's a quote I'm interested in I will read it and then click comments, but no I don't read everyone of them.
If you LIKE putting them there then continue doing it, ya never know when it will connect with someone....my 2cents today.
Happy 2006 day

I would read 'em because I love quotes.... :o)
Yep, I read em...and I have commented on a few of them too...some of em I just don't get, or know where they are from, so I can't comment on those...sometimes I read em over and over, trying to remember where I have heard them before...ahhhhh...You should have a little contest where you put the quote or lyric and then have people guess where they came from, that would be fun.
Me again...how did you get that "recently updated" thing on your sidebar? Its pretty cool dude! LOL
Ah good question Wendy. I noticed this on Lara's blog and eventually others.
On someone that has a list like this you should notice somewhere nere the list there is something that says Power By BlogRolling. If you click on that link it will take you to http://www.blogrolling.com/ which is a service you can sign up for free. You can use this to maintane you link list. One of the added features is the ability to mark which blogs have been updated recently and you get to decided what you consider recent. I have mine set to 24 hours for now.
To do this you go into your blog and delete you list of links to blogs and add in a small amount of code to your blog. Then you need to use BlogRolling to add what links you want to see onto BlogRolling. I knew nothing about it last night when I signed up so it can't be to hard.
I think I am going to like it.
Hey Wendy, if you notice the little ditty at the end always (I believe) ends with or is followed by -- and then something. That something may be a movie or show title where this came from (thank you IMDB) or an artist followed by a song title where the lyrics are from and sometimes a link to where I found the lyrics. Now I am not always familure with the thing I post like the most recent, Broken Flower. I have no clue what that is but the IMDB advanced search found it for me.
I love lamp.
I love lamp!
(i know that wasn't the point of your question, but you threw a little ron burgundy in there and i couldn't help myself....!)
(oh, and hi! followed you here from comments on someone else's blog. happy new year.)
I love the little quotes at the end of your postings! A nice signature touch! Thing is, if it is a movie, I want to go rent the dang thing and watch it until I hear the quote. If I had the time, I would. LOL. Thanks for the quotes. Some really make me think, some make me laugh! Some I just scratch my head. *snort* Did I mention I was a real blonde? lol.
You know sometimes it takes me the better part of an hour to find something that might work. I am getting better at finding stuff in IMDB.
As to scratching your head, that is not surprising. Now that is not a slam on you. Sometimes I am really reaching when I put something at the end, just like the title on a post. The title often times only vagly matches the post. It kind of reminds me of the headlines in a newspaper.
Sometimes I think people will enjoy the title, other times I can not help but think people must think I am insane and they probably are not to far from the truth. LOL Of course the real truth is it is just a title that no one pays attention to in the first place. I just like to try and pay attention to details.
