Nick it really would only make sense to some people here in Michigan. It is the original Hammer Time (Can't Touch This) video so you probably have seen that video somewhere before.

We have a Mayor here in Michigan, Kwami Kilpatric, who is charged with 10 felonies and has several trials in his future. Today was the beginning of a proceeding to determine if the Governor of the State should remove the Mayor from office.

Here is where the video comes in. One of the people that was called to testify was a law professor called Peter Hammer. Despite how the Mayor's team tried to do it, they could not discredit the professor. The professor gave some pretty compelling testimony on contract law and I would say the Mayor's team looked like fools.

I just could not help but think about this song when I saw what was going on.

Now just to take this one step further... The Mayor's team has also asked the Michigan Supreme Court to stop the hearing until it can be determined if the Governor can hold the hearing in the first place (it is written into our constitution, duh). Also the word came out that the Mayor was going to plea guilty at 5:15 tonight which was thing moved to 9:00 tomorrow morning. He wants to get a plea agreement in before he is pitched from office.

See, told you it was a Michigan thing. Sorry.

isn't the world of politics just lovely? lol

as far as hammer's concerned (the one in the video that is) he lives in the next town 10 mins from here. my stepson's team played his son's team last yr. prob this yr, too. it's funny to see people go 'ooo, there's hammer' or they just say 'hey, hammer' all he's trying to do is watch his boy play cuz he's into his son, that particular rec team, and football big time!

How cool is that Ciara? I know there are several towns that really go out of their way to protect the privacy of their home town celebrities. The place where Charles Shultz lived (he wrote the Peanuts comic strip and has since passed on)was on such place. They pretty much left him alone. To bad more towns would not understand that.
