Monkey Love |
Today I finally did it. I went to the show to see King Kong. Oh my but I loved that show. Now there were a few slower periods in it but for a 3 hour movie that does not surprise me. I so love the actors especially Naomi Watts. Oh my, where have you been or more importantly why didn't I see you sooner? Of course there was also Jack Black. I enjoyed him in School of Rock and I though he did a good job once again.
I so got into the characters and found myself talking to the screen, don't do that, run, she is not going to like that. Kong was great, the effects where nice and they had so many things. We had running with the bulls, well maybe not bulls. We also had circus clown entertainment. There where bugs, dinasaurs, and violance (but not the real gorry kind). Just a few tears here and there, a little love story mixed in, and so much more not to mention monkey love. Well not porno monkey love (shame on you) but you could tell there was such a connection between Kong and Ann Darrow. In general I loved the movie. I must admit I was surprised IMDB only gave it a 7.8 out of 10.
One more thing, so what did we learn in King Kong? A guy can so have everything going his way and be the king of everything and what happens??? A blonde brought him down. Men just seem to have weak spots for blondes.
By the way, I almost missed the movie, what a loser. When I got home from work I was tired so I decided to take a mini nap. When I opened my eyes it was almost 7:00 pm and the show starts at 7:15. I had a few minutes to get out the house and a 10 to 15 minute drive. Well it was 15 minutes at least. I almost gave it up but then I noticed something very strange. The clock on my car radio said it was 6:16 pm. How could that be? I opened my cell phone and it agreed about the time. WTF? Then it hit me what I had done. I have two alarm clocks by my bed. One that I never touch. It goes off at 6:00 am M-F. I hate to fool with that clock so if I feel I need some more sleep in the morning or if I want to get up in the middle of the night, etc, than I use the other clock. Now here is the stupid part. The main clock sets itself for Daylight Saving Time on it's own, the other clock does not. Well in an ultimate demonstration of lazyness I did not change the clock. It still is one hour ahead. What I must have done is looked at that clock when I opened my eyes and then got ready and bolt out of there without paying attention to anything else. Well nedless to say, I have never been so early to a show. Time to rest that puppy now!
I decided to take the back roads home and for some reason I really did enjoy the drive. Lots of winding roads, small hills, and little traffic. The curve that says you have to slow to 30, I of course decided to keep going 45 like the rest of the road. It's a guy thing but I must admit that was fun. Sad thing is that is not the first time I have done that. Boring!
When I got home I ran inside, got out my tripod and camera and ran outside. The stars were to die for tonight. I pointed the camera at the sky and snapped a picture. Unfortunetly it would only allow the shutter to be open for 3 seconds which was not near enough. To bad, I so wanted to post that.
Well if anyone else out there has not seen Kong yet you may want to think about seeing it or at least rent it when it comes out to a video store near you. I think it has a little bit for everyone.
The beast looked upon the face of beauty. Beauty stayed his hand, and from that moment he was as one dead --King Kong

Hi Grannie. Ok, I admit it ... it is not uncommon for me to tear up at certain moveis. I did mist up at Kong but never did shead a tear. I loved the connection between Kong and Ann and hated to see Kong bye it in the end. Of course that is just the way it ends. Stupid movie. Where is the SPCA when you need them?
I have never been to a convention before. I came close once to going to a Trek convention (yes, I am one of those) but I did not purchase a head of time and they were sold out. To bad I know I would have enjoyed it and would have had a fun time staring at all those that take it over the top. Maybe that is why I like Galaxy Quest where they make fun of all that.
Well I made it to the show and I think I am going to need to get it when available. I also enjoyed Kyle Chandler (I was a fan from a TV series called Early Edition). All and all, I knew I needed to go see it and I am so glad I did.
