55Flash Fiction Friday

It is always the same
You’re stomach is in a not
You are in a slight panic
Over and over you ask
why am I doing this?

The lights come up
The announcer finishes
The audience is clapping

You take the stage
Walk up to the microphone
And just like that
the concert is underway

Anyone that has ever been on stage probably knows this feeling. Some of the best performers I know (and yes I am including you in there GoGo) thrive on this. I believe it makes their performance even better.

The above was a 55Flash Fiction. If you would like to participate just put together something with about 55 word. You need a theme and at least one character and there you go. Post it and go see G-Man and tell him you posted one. You would be surprised, they are not that hard to do. Some people write the most incredible 55s. Others are much more average like mine are. I hope you join us.

Well I will be on a run the rest of the day. This evening will be 17th annual Costumes Contest for Dogs. I have never seen one of these and I think it is high time I go see it. It will be damp but there should be a big tent donated by a local rental place. If I can I will bring you a few photos of the championship butt sniffing contest that I am sure will go on. I know all the costumes are always fantastic. It should be a fun time.

It is a mixed feeling of excitement and initial nervousness. I have acted in a lot of plays during my college days & also sang on the stage many a times! Its always the same feeling!

Barman: I have extreme stage fright and have turned down many invitations to do public speaking. I know the butterfly feeling, but in my case it is the vulture eating at the liver. BUT-I was able to take part in plays when I was younger. Maybe it's because I can be someone else. Who knows! I like the 55. D

Great 55! I rocked the mic last night myself. As a matter of fact, I'm having a hard time talking.

How did that contest come out?

Hey you!
Wow I had a lot of catching up to do.
Good luck with the diet...I am having to be careful because I have gained all the weight back that I lost in India last time, and now I am adding more! Freaks me OUTTTTT!
I have to starve to lose weight since I am a lazy ass and dont exercise but you can walk! That will help a lot!

I was just thinking that my blog is starting to remind me of yours because...well, it's just a biweekly report at this point. I just dont have time to fool around here anymore.

But anyway...you can do it Bryan! The first time you tighten that belt a notch you are gonna be hooked! It feels good to slim down.

Ok so here I am trying to figure out what to post for Monday. ANy suggestions?

(it's 10:30 on Sunday night, PST so I know you are asleep! Sweet dreams)

Sarah I bet you rocked. As to the doggie pictures, I will post some tomorrow. I ran out of time this morning. It was kind og fun.

Lime, one dog got nervious for sure. The had a plastic crab tied to the back of the dog. As they ran it was following them. The faster they ran the louder it got. Poor doggie.

Mona, isn't there anything you have not done. You amaze me. It has been forever since I did any type of performing. You bring that feeling back even more vivid than the 55 I wrote.

Donnetta Lee I do not do well with pulic speeking at all. I get all nervious, palms sweet and all. I probably should force myself to do more of it just in case it is important some day. I had a few small parts in plays when I was in grade school. Not sure I could even do that now. Thanks for stopping by.

Ciara, it wasn't you I was staring it. It was the other guy ... honest. :)

I do indeed have some dog pictures worth sharing. Fun time had by all. My weekend was weird with most of Sunday spent in bed ... and no, I was not doing something fun. Of course I think I needed that.

Sign that is a good sign. I am glad you had a great time. Encore!

Susie, not sure where the diet is heading but so far so good. I did not weigh myself over the weekend. Sorry to hear about putting on weight but didn't you lose the wrong way. It is hard to keep weight loss off like that. Just keep an eye and do something about it. To bad you have to do starvation. The body really works aginst you when you do that. You a lazy ass? I thought the trips between the yurt and the house alone would be a bit of exercise.

I trie to post more but I find I just do not have much to say. As it is my posts are usually week.

You could post about people with obsesions. I spent 9 hours watching a TV show called 24. I saw 14 episodes. I have 6 seasons to watch and I am only half way through the first season. Of course I was not feeling that well on Saturday so it was probably best I spent most of the day in bed. I will be post pet pictures once I get home. The costume contest for dogs went well. I am sure you will figure something out.

KJ, I saw a couple of dogs that reminded my of your dog and possibly Sarahs too. It was fun and the people were almost as nice as the dogs. Hope you had a great halloween psrty.

Barman, you got it spot on. The nights I don't have stage-fright are the nights I don't do well because I don't care enough.

George Burns said he had stage-fright every time he went on stage.

For me it only lasts for the first song, and so I always start with one of my favourites that I know inside out, just to get over it. Then the real concert can begin.

These days I stick to private ones with audiences of 10 or less. And they are the toughest of them all.
